This traditional solar post light, called the Edisol, is 800mm high with a 360 degree polycarbonate diffuser. This post light has a full sized diffuser, meaning light is emitted all the way around the light. The Edisol has an enclosed filament LED which is visible from all directions, adding to the design (LED replaceable). Available in Warm White (3000K) or Daylight White (6000K) in a Black or Silver colour. The external base adds stability, enabling mounting to any flat surface.
The Edisol uses intelligent time controllers, calibrated to the UK climate, to prolong battery life without compromising on brightness levels. These time controllers operate a gradual dimming sequence to maintain a brighter light when it is needed most, in the early hours of darkness, and a less bright light when it is needed less, often in the early hours of the morning. In addition, the Edisol’s Active Smart Power System (ASPS) further reduces light emission when the battery voltage is low, resulting in longer-lasting light functionality.
At darkness, the Edisol post light will illuminate at full brightness, and then follow a gradual dimming sequence until it reaches 30% brightness after 5 hours. From then on it will remain at 30% until dawn. Even in the dullest of weather, our solar lights will still illuminate. This solar post light will illuminate for up to 23 hours at full charge. A prolonged period of bad weather may not allow full charge to be reached, but partial charge will still result in fair illumination times. Should the voltage of the battery drop below 3.1v, the LEDs will illuminate at 30% brightness.
Solar lighting – the time is now!
The current proactive drive to save our planet is positive and important. Solar energy is one of the World’s most innovative renewable power sources. It uses no power from the grid, just the sun to charge rechargeable batteries during the day, stored to be used at night. Subsequently, other benefits are clear, with no running and installation costs or ongoing maintenance.
Solar is the perfect solution to illuminating areas where hard wiring is not possible. Most importantly, solar is better for the environment. Solar post lights use a natural, clean, renewable energy source – the sun.
