Radiata – Timber Pine Post Bollard
Wooden Bollard Lights
Manufactured using solid Radiata Pine South African timbers renowned for their low split properties and no feathering. These stylish Radiata Timber Pine Post Bollards are fully sanded to give a smooth top quality finish and pressure treated with Tanalith E preservative in accordance with BS8417 to meet Use Class 4.
The Radiata is designed so that 300mm – 400mm of these wooden bollard lights can be securely mounted in-ground.
The expected life of these pine post lights is up to 15 years with a 5-year Guarantee as standard.
The light is emitted from a solid brass light in a charming rustic bronze finish. There are two main designs available. The “eyelid” design (Eyelite) has an anti-glare shield, projecting the light downwards, directly around and in front of the post. The slatted design (Slatlite) incorporates angled louvres, again acting as an anti-glare shield. The light emitted from this fitting is slightly more diffused than the more focused Eyelite beam.
Both designs are available in a 12v or 240v option, and complete with an LED lamp (see below for more information). 240v post lights use an LED G9 whereas 12v post lights use an LED G4. Note: 12v wooden bollard lights will require a 12v Transformer.
These exclusive, natural Timber Pine Post Bollards are ideal for subtly illuminating pathways and driveways with a rural, traditional design.

LED Lamps
LED lamps are available in a variety of options. Warm white is the most common colour temperature, which also works really well with the traditional, warm tones of brass and wood. However, if daylight white is preferred, the lamp can easily be changed. As well as colour temperature, LED lamps also come in various wattages and lumens output. The higher the lumens output, the brighter the bulb.
12v Bollard Lights Explained
Low voltage garden lighting (12v) is extremely versatile and particularly suited to damp, outdoor weather conditions. Due to the low voltage, it is safe for any competent person to install. Lumena transformers simply plug into a waterproof UK mains socket with no mains wiring required. The transformer then connects to the wooden bollard lights via a junction box or waterproof connectors. It is recommended to keep cable lengths as short as possible, however, when using LEDs and fewer fittings, cable runs can reach 30m before voltage drop occurs. Many factors affect voltage drop, including:
- Total wattage of LEDs powered (lower wattage can allow for longer cable lengths)
- The spacing of fittings (even spacing is better than grouping at the end)
- The thickness of the cable (the thicker the cable, the longer the cable run can be before voltage drop occurs)
